There is a lot of counting going on at the moment. We hear about the Covid numbers every day. People are counting the days to the end of this lockdown. Some people are even counting down the days to the midterm break!
While we are doing all this counting it is probably a good thing to count our blessings…the good things that happen to us. Good things like escaping the virus, having friends and family to keep us company during the lockdown, been part of the great effort at bringing our school online. It is good to look back at what we have achieved and who has helped us. It gives us the confidence to move forward. It gives us the opportunity to give thanks. It gives us hope.
Speaking about counting, please take a moment to complete this short survey about how online schooling is going for you. It will only take a moment. Just click on the link below.
A few notices for Friday.
- Today is the last day for enrolment. Many thanks to those who have worked so hard on this, especially over the last few weeks.
- Very positive reports coming back from parents, students and teachers about the last week. Well done to all involved and let’s keep up the good work. Our goal is to maintain and improve the level of engagement from students so that no learning time is lost.
- Reports should be arriving today. It is very important that parents and students go through these carefully and pay special attention to teachers’ comments which should help you to improve your grades.
- Finally there will be no written homework over the weekend which means you can do a little revision and get yourself organised for a fresh start on Monday!
And now we take a moment to read the reflection that Ms Keenan has shared with us this morning.
|When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit—
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.Life is odd with its twists and turns,
As everyone sometimes learns.
And many a person turns about
When an individual might have won
had he or she stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with yet another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than it seems
Success is failure turned inside out—
