Congratulations to Mark Lyons who was awarded an entrance scholarship by Trinity College Dublin recently in recognition of his excellent Leaving Cert results. He received one thousand euro from the college.

The ‘Adopt a Grandparent’ Programme
The Adopt a Grandparent programme continues with a group of Transition Year students going down to Inis Ree Lodge every Monday. Is has been a very enjoyable experience for both students and residents. Thanks to Ms. Keenan for organising the groups and for the Inis Ree Lodge for running the programme.

Preparations for the Transition Year’s Christmas Show are well under way. Lots of work being done by all. Special thanks goes to the members of the Transition Year Committee who are giving up their own free time to help prepare for the show. The show is on the 15th of December and doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Ice Skating Trip
On Wednesday 30th November our TYs went on a trip to Dundrum Town Centre to go ice skating. Thanks to Mr. McElgunn, Mr. O’Brien and Ms. Farrell for accompanying them.
On Tuesday 29th November Helen from Aware Ireland gave a talk as a part of their Beat the Blues campaign. Thanks to Ms. Keenan.
The 5th year LCVP class had a breakfast morning in aid of Childline ISPCC. Ms. Monica Rowe, a Childline spokesperson, told the class about her experiences working with Childline and the works Childline do all year round. During their breakfast morning the LCVP class raised €298.05, which MS. Rowe received on the day.
