Assembly 12 2 21
Good morning,
We will begin with a reflection especially for the day that we are celebrating, brought to us by Ms Keenan who continues to inspire and challenge us with her selection of poems and prayers.
A Prayer for St Valentine’s Day
God bless you on this special day,
God keep you in His care,
And may His blessing and His love
Go with you everywhere.
And now for a few notices…
It has been a very busy term, now time to take a break….and that means everybody! Leave the books down, pull yourself away from the laptops and go outside for a walk, sleep in and catch up on life and living. If you want to do some study that is your choice but you are not obliged to do anything over this holiday other than mind yourself and those around you!
Take a moment to look around at the people that have been there for you over the last 5 weeks; parents, family, friends and your teachers. If you get a moment , find a way to say thanks to them and brighten up their day.
Reviews reports will be going out in the post next Tuesday. This review is intended as a snapshot of your progress at a given time. It should be something that you aim for…a target and a goal…something you can focus and improve on. Well done to all the exam students and their teachers who have worked so hard over the last few weeks.
Well done to all the other classes who also have been doing tests and completing course work. The courses are being covered and there is no excuse for missing this time. We ask you to make a fresh start when the new term starts on the 22nd of February!
A reminder to the 2nd year class that the second session with Abbott’s ‘World of Work Programme’ will take place this morning at 10am. The session is called, ‘A Day in the Life’ and the students will get the opportunity to hear from different employees in Abbott and what their jobs look like. Students are encouraged to ask as many questions as possible so don’t miss this opportunity to connect with one of the biggest Pharma companies around.
School lunches to be collected from school today from 1pm to 1.30. Also if you need laptops , let us know and we will get them for you.
Best of luck to the school chess club who will be in action again tonight. Chess class at 1.30 today for anybody interested…just send an email to mlyons.lcc@lwetb.ie if you are a new member.
Look at today’s date…do you notice anything interesting about it? If you think you know the answer, email greynolds.lcc@lwetb.ie to be in with a chance to win a prize!
Lots of fun and craic planned for today, the last day of the school term.
Mr Donnelly and his TY class will be busy making pancakes during the last two classes so if you would like to join them online and send us in your pictures of the finished products, then off you go and do that at 12.15. You can also tune into Sham Radio which will be playing a selection of the tunes you selected during the week. Will you be able to reveal the identity of our two hosts? We will send you a link at 12.30 Finally as part of the Three Minute Challenge we promised there would be prizes…and there will be after break when the 5 winners will be announced alongside a selection of the jokes and valentine verses which ye sent into us. Well done to everybody who took part in this week’s challenges and congratulations to the lucky winners. There will be another set of challenges soon but for now the only challenge we should be thinking about is how long we can sleep in during the holidays!
Enjoy!
