The school has once again this year been successful in the BT Young Scientist Competition in Dublin. We had four projects entered in the competition with all the projects receiving high praise from the judges. The four projects entered in the competition were :
- Understanding how the weather affects fishing by Adam Kingi (1st Year)
- Driven by Gender? An investigation into subject choice in 1st Year by Orla Lyons (1st Year)
- “We remember 95% of what we teach”. Peer tutoring in TY by Brian Lyons (Transition Year) – Result 2nd place in the Social and Behavioural Sciences category
- Medical Cannabis: Is there a middle ground? by Sean Maguire and Patrick Kenny (Transition Year) – Result Highly Commended
Well done to all the students involved and to Mr. Lyons for his continuous hard work in mentoring the students.
